Skilled Care - Main Campus
Skilled Nursing
Our goal is to use individualized programs to help our residents achieve maximum independence, improve or restore the performance of necessary daily functions such as walking, promote health and wellness and enhance the quality of life for each individual.
Treatment Nurse
The Village has a full-time Treatment Nurse on staff five days a week to help those in need of a healing touch with wounds, skin tears, bruises, etc.
Loretta,Treatment Nurse says, "Nurses are special angels sent straight from God to offer a healing hand to those in need. There's a special sense of gratification that comes with being a treatment nurse. There's a sense of pride and accomplishment when I am able to heal a stubborn wound, and there is an indescribable feeling that fills the heart knowing that not only was I able to heal the wound, but I was a part of the overall healing process."

Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation
Our rehabilitation program uses an interdisciplinary team treatment approach. We develop a personalized program to achieve maximum independence, increase physical functionality and enhance the quality of life for each individual. Our therapists understand that each of our residents is exceptional.
Physical therapy assistant Cindy Fry sa
ys, "Hazel works hard every morning with physical therapy to ensure her own safety in everyday living skills. Hazel and I walk every morning to gain the balance that she needs to ambulate and be as independent as possible." Shown are Hazel and Cindy taking a break from their morning walk.
Nurses Week
Nurses week was held May 6-12. The residents held an appreciation party in the parlor. Cookies and punch were served, and favors were given. Also during this week, nurses were given t-shirts and a pizza party was held to show them just how much they are appreciated.
Resident Advocates
A full-time social services director and assistants provide emotional and practical support to residents and their families, serve as advocates, assist with referrals to community resources, and assist with discharge planning.
Activities for the Mind & Body
With a full-time activity director and support staff, residents can participate in a wide variety of activities, including bus trips, bingo, exercises, and musical programs. Activities are designed for a range of abilities! If you choose, you can spend a quiet afternoon reading in your room or enjoy the fresh air in one of our courtyards. You might also browse the gift shop for that favorite snack!
Residential Setting
The Village offers affordable options in both private and semi-private rooms, and, if available, two room suites. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.
Spiritual Services
The Village has regularly scheduled services. Devotions are also conducted in the Village parlor and spoken grace precedes each meal. Our staff includes a chaplain, who is readily available to all residents and families.
Dietitian on Staff
Therapeutic diets are available for our Intermediate and Skilled Residents. Our staff includes a consulting dietitian, and we provide three nutritious meals daily.
Jane Zuber, the consulting dietitian at the UMV, has been a consulting dietitian since 1989. Working closely with Jane is Food Service Director, Kay Kendall. Kay has worked in the kitchen at The United Methodist Village for five years. Shown is a picture of Kay and her assistant Jen. Kay states,
"We here at the Village are making a difference. I'm proud to say we have had a deficiency free survey in our Dietary Department the past five years. We take pride in serving our residents and insuring sanitation precautions."
Direct Care Staff Highlight
Paula Murphy is a very dedicated member of the Village team. Paula always presents a very positive and professional attitude. Always showing love and compassion for each one of the residents, she is a very important asset to the Village. She tells us a little about her experience working at The United Methodist Village;
"The United Methodist Village has been a big part of my life for the past several years. All of my co-workers and I work together as a team to give love, happiness, comfort, and compassion to the residents we care for. Knowing that you have made a difference in someone's life is the most gratifying feeling of all. I feel very fortunate that I have had the opportunity to work at such a great facility."
